As we approach our
10th year in the Belted Galloway Business, we can't help but look back and
think about our herd and where it has taken us. Over the past 10 years, we
have been very successful in the showring by having many Champions and also
being recognized as Premier Breeder on several occasions. Our Black Belted
herd has produced such Champions as, Uphill Cassandra, Uphill Cabot, Uphill
Durango, Uphill Excitement and Uphill Hudson. Anderson Hill Orly is our only Dun Belted female, however she has produced many excellent Red Belted females for us. In February of 2002, we flushed Orly to Aldermere Avery producing 7 ET calves. From that flush were 3 Dun Belted Bulls, a Red Belted Bull and Heifer, and a Black Belted Bull and Heifer thus qualifying Anderson Hill Orly for the 2003 Dam of the Year. With the use of 4WF Colorado 63G, Aldermere Avery and his son Uphill Glory along with Blackstone Zeus, a Troubador son, we have gotten our Red Belted Herd up to 37 females. Our Red Belted Herd is among the largest, if not the largest in existence and is genetically diverse as well - combining three unrelated bloodlines. |
